A Mysterious Visitor

Lightpaw stalked through the undergrowth, keeping light on her paws. She was following the scent of a thrush. She could see it up ahead, it's gray wings glinting in the light that filtered down from the trees. She waggled her haunches, preparing to leap, but a crashing sound through the undergrowth startled it, and the thrush flew away.

Lightpaw kept silent, watching for whatever had scared away the thrush. A black tom that she had never seen before crashed through the branches. "Mouse dung!"

Lightpaw tensed her muscles, than sprang, catching the tom by surprise. "What the-", he gasped as Lightpaw bowled him over. She could feel the rush of blood in her head and ears, tuning everything out except the swish of claws and low growls of battle.

The tom was strong, but thin. He dug his sharp claws into Lightpaw's fur, and she let out a howl of frustration before biting his foreleg. He wrestled away from her.

"Truce!", he gasped. Lightpaw retorted, "Not before you tell me what you were doing here. Don't you know that this is IndigoClan territory?"

"IndigoClan? What's that?", asked the tom, completely unfazed by Lightpaw's hostile tone.

"You don't know? It's only the best Clan ever!"

"Clan...?", a sudden look of understanding crossed the black cat's face. "Oh, you mean those cats that live in big groups? And follow those stupid rules?"

"There NOT stupid!"

"Okay, okay, settle down.", the cat licked a forepaw. "By the way, my name is Dark. What's yours?"

"Lightpaw. What Clan do you belong to? I don't recognize your smell."

"I don't belong to any Clan. I'm what you call a rouge. I used to just live with my mother and father, but then my father died and-"

"I'm sorry."

"It's ok. Anyway, then a big group of rouges came along and we joined up with them."

Lightpaw's ears pricked up. "How many?"

Dark thought for a minute. "Around 8. More come each day."

Oh, no

"But tell me about your Clan. What is it like?"

"I-I can't. I have to go."

Dark looked dissapointed. "Okay. I'll see you again?"

"Maybe." I hope not...

Kit's Playground

This sturdy Japanese Maple tree is great for kits to play on! It has low hanging branches and soft moss under foot if kits fall from it, and it helps teach kits climbing and balance skills.

Apprentice Ceremonies

"We have a new cat joining us today--Breezepaw. Your mentor will be Spiritsong!", Navystar yowled, looking down at her Clan from the Circle Stone. "We also have two apprentice ceremonies to perform..." Lightkit and Hailkit stood at the bottom of the Circle Stone, looking up at her with eager eyes.

"Lightkit, will you honor the warrior code and protect and defend this clan, even at the cost of your life?" Lightkit looked up at her adopted mother with eager eyes. "I do," she said, her voice loud and clear. "Then from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, your name shall be Lightpaw." Navystar beamed proudly at the new apprentice, who was quivering with joy.

"Hailkit," she continued "will you honor the warrior code and protect and defend this clan, even at the cost of your life?" The small gray cat's voice was steady as he replied, "I do." "Then from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, your name shall be Hailpaw. Lightpaw, your mentor will be Moonbeam. Hailpaw, your mentor will be Redclaw."

Breezepaw! Lightpaw! Hailpaw! Breezepaw! Lightpaw! Hailpaw!

Our First Apprentice!!!

Navystar leaped onto the Circle Stone. "Cats of IndigoClan! We have a new cat joining us today! Please welcome our first apprentice--Splashpaw! Brightsong, you will train Splashpaw. Pass along your wits and loyalty to him. "

"Splashpaw! Splashpaw! Splashpaw! Splashpaw!"

Navystar yowled for attention before the crowd dispersed. "Maplestream, I would like to talk to you in your den. Please meet me there." There were murmurs from the crowd.

Prophecy

Navystar twitched in her sleep. She was back again in the starry field.

"Why have you brought me here?", she called out to the shadowy cats gathered around her. The throng of cats swayed, and four shapes stepped in front of Navystar. She gasped in suprise. Her father, Russetclaw, her mother, Lilyheart, and her sisters Robinheart and Paintedsong were standing in front of her. Navystar couldn't speak for fear that her emotions would overflow.

Her father opened his mouth and said: "The heart of the light must meet the wing of the dark."

Her mother said: "The spirit of song must come into it's own."

Robinheart replied: "The sun must blaze down onto our enemy."

And Paintedsong voiced: "Only these four can save the Clan."

The shapes began to fade away. "Wait!", Navystar called, "What does that mean???"

Our New Deputy!!!

[Sorry for not coming on!!!!!!!! I was grounded!!!!!!!!!! I will start a prophecy and some story lines soon!!!!!!!!!]

Navystar padded into her den. It was so hard choosing a deputy. All the candidates were great cats, and she didn't want to choose between them. She lay down in her bed of moss and closed her eyes...

She awoke in the midst of a starlit field. She knew this was StarClan, she had seen it before when she received her nine lives. A starry shape moved forward to her...

"Father!!!", Navystar gasped. She wanted to run and feel the touch of her father, killed when she was barley an apprentice. Her father said nothing, but pointed his tail tip towards a large oak tree that stood in the middle of the field.

Navystar listened, and to her ears came the sweet song of a bird. She understood instantly. She turned to her father and nodded her head. She knew who the deputy would be.

Navystar jumped onto the Circle Stone. "Cats of Indigoclan!", she yowled, "I have decided our new deputy! Please cheer for Spiritsong!" The crowd of cats below erupted in cheers.

"Spiritsong, do you promise to fulfill the role of deputy to your best ability?"

The she-cat's green eyes shone brightly. "I do.", she mewed confidently.

"Then IndigoClan, welcome your new deputy!!!"

"SPIRITSONG! SPIRITSONG! SPIRITSONG! SPIRITSONG!"

Deputy Contest

Alright, the cats running for Deputy are: Sunblaze, Spiritsong, Spiritmoon, Littleface, and Moonbeam. This contest CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE 1ST WARRIORS CAT SERIES!!!!! So, if you haven't read them, be prepared. The first three cats to answer all the questions will move on to the poll. A Warrior and Our First Apprentice

"Indigoclan!", Navystar called out, jumping onto the Circle Stone, "We have another warrior joining us today....Moonbeam!" Navystar waited for the cheering to calm down. "This means we have five candidates running for deputy. We will have a contest to narrow it down to three contestants, and then a poll. Before you leave, we also have our first apprentice, who is also the medicine cat apprentice-Leafpaw!"
